I found a clock in an old 5 1/2 digit DVM and while the shaping of the sine wave is discrete, the oszillator circuit looks pretty much the same like in the Kwak clock, with some differences.
There is a 47p cap in series with the crystal. ??? DC blocking ? There is no DC except maybe leakage current from the fet ? Instead of the 1k resistor it has a 100µH inductor that looks like it forms an impedance at the clock frequency. Any advantage over the resistor ? |
