Seems clear enough. Theta and a few others use DSP chips ranging from the old ATT DSP16 and MOT 56K in the earlier models to the AD SHARC family in the newer models to implement proprietary oversampling digital filters rather than use an off the shelf one from TI or NPC. The OP is after someone with the experience of something similar.
