64bit DAC is clearly nonsense. There is a discussion on another thread about the fundamental limits to DAC performance.
The obvious one (due to Johnson noise) comes in at something like 24bits for reasonable sampling rates. Even if you imagine weird lab applications with electronics cooled to low cryogenic temperatures, so the thermal noise is suppressed, the quantum mechanical limit is about 32bits. 64bits is just marketing BS. |
