Isomagic clock link to RME Soundcard

Hi,
I've been searching the forum and deduced that the clock link output on my Cambridge Audio Isomagic is 5.6448MHz. I am wondering if I can use this to master clock a Crystal CS8402A S/PDIF transmitter to generate an empty S/PDIF signal that my RME soundcard can syncronise to? The CS8402A requires a 5.6448Mhz clock to generate a 44.1kHz S/PDIF signal so it seems like just the ticker. Will it provide the necessary syncronisation between transmitter (soundcard) and receiver (dac)?

From what I can tell from the datasheets, this chip plus a toslink receiver and transmitter should be pretty much all I need. Am I missing something or should it really be that simple?

The alternative is to take the Isomagic apart and see if there is a more conventional clock signal floating around that I can hijack. I'd rather not do that if I can use the existing external interface.
