Default Adcom GCD 575

Hi,

Got an old Adcom CD player. Lately it's been skipping randomly on known good CD's and also pops, ticks in the right channel once in a while. I've had it since new ('90) and loved it. Is it over? No obvious bad caps, etc on the board. What goes wrong with these things, finite laser life which affects tracking?

Maybe it's time to bit the bullet and get a new unit.

Any help/thoughts appreciated.

Mike
