Which grade is the PCM63P DAC's placed on RCD 991?
Is the same DAC's in ROTEL RCD 971? There isn't mark on DAC's in my old RCD 971. Now I'm ready to upgrade with RCD991. |

I don't know anything about the Rotel player, but did find a site that indicated 971=pcm63, 991=pcm63k
look here for the data sheets. As far as I can recall the only difference is the operating temperature range

If you do not see the letter "J" or "K" as a suffix to the part number, nor they can be found anywhere on the top, then the DAC must be a basic version.
Hope this helps. |

--> look at the table on page 3 Max THD+N at 0dB PCM63P : -88dB PCM63P-J : -92dB PCM63P-K : -96dB Unless Rotel wiped the markings, you should be able to read the exact type printed on the chip. |

Yes, I know, but I'm still waiting my new RCD 991 and need some info in advance from the owners of RCD 991.
Is there a chance to find information in the service manual? I'm looking for the schematics / service manual ROTEL RCD 991. Anyone? please. My e-mail is Staykov1975@abv.bg |

all dac should be matched trimmed , so if you have 50 pcm63 non-k thats better than 10 of K-s for the job .

There isn't grade on DAC in RCD 991, but they are better than DAC in 971. I change them(from 991 to 971) and there is difference between.
