Hi all,
I've bought a couple of those transformers and I have a doubt. Should they be used only when there are problems or they will give a sonic improvement on a non problematic SPDIF connection? Best regards, Paco |

I've bought one yesterday and plan to use on a AES / EBU interface input with CS8414.
Take care as this transformer is designed for 110 ohms operation (AES / EBU), I don't know if this can work with SPDIF 75 omhs with a 75 omhs resistor on the secondary. For my point of view, pulse transformer help to break ground loop and keep the differential input of the AES / EBU. Any advice is welcome. |

I plugged it yesterday in my CS4398 DAC.
I removed the normal stuff and replace it with this transformer + 110 ohms resistor on the secondary directly connected to pins 9 and 10 of the CS8414. Working fine, the error led of the CS8414 remains off. I can't say if the sound is improuved as I changed from spdif to aes / ebu. Seems that can be used with spdif (75 ohms) input. http://www.lundahl.se/pdfs/datash/1572_1573_1589.pdf |
