Hello Gentlemen,
.. i recently came across this fairly cheap CDP, because it was supposed to be skipping. After re-greasing the drive, everything worked prefectly. Surprised by its rather musical but yet detailed sound, i decided to change all caps (oscon, pana fc, LM 6172 OP-amp) which improved the unit considerably, it actually plays "music" now. I understand, the cd 720 has a crappy unregulated psu and a ceramic resonator. I've been searching the internet for days now for some information regarding clock frequency. can i put a normal crystal in there, or do i have "reclock" it? Can anybody help me out? A service-manual maybe..? regards, mickie |
