I am trying to replace the laser on a kenwood DPX9010 which has a DLBA, I have sourced a KSS152A and wonder if you have the pin outs on the laser head, there are 8 pins on a red plug and a white plug each, you tray looks different tp mine, also did you have to line the laser up or did it just drop into place, is there any stress on the magnetic travel using the wire you used ?, you may email me direct on "alfredrofe@optusnet.com.au"Some time ago I was made succesfully replace original DLBA... for SOHOT3 (KSS152) in DP-X9010. Maybe is not pretty done but works dam good.

There are two types of KSS152 (one of those can't be used), pinouts i was used from some onkyo player datasheet with KSS152 and the same servo chip as kenwood. The wires was very light (take from PC mouse) and make minimum stress but still it was some. This caused produce some heat on coils but it works to present day. Nothing burned. Also you can use original tape from DLBA laser instead many wires. If you want to sell that player as it is, please let me know.
At last came the turn of the KSS-271A (SONY CDP-X333ES), donor's KSS-183A. RF amplifier is built on CXA1081M. In the photo a temporary draft, then of course I will do everything beautifully. Everything works fine!

I have another DP-X9010 back to live with KSS152.
This time I was used original tape from DLBA, there is no additional stress on wires, much better option than previous one.

Do everything in accordance with the pin connections. Is the soldering difficult and which order must the solder joints be connected?

Onkyo DX 6570
the cdp was working 3 ..4 tracks than a "click" sound appear,
1. I clean the laser - nothing change.
2. than I see that the problem is bigger and I see that the tape was broken.. (see pictures) - I was hopping that this was the real problem
3. so.. the diode is not reading..
thank you
