SB3 Shunt regulated PS design

Hi all,

Dave Davenport on the K&K Audio forum is willing to design a shunt regulated power supply for the SB3 if there is enough interest. That's about it. So if your interested, give him a shout on the forum. I wrote this post purely out of self-indulgence and because I'm a fan of his minimal reactance shunt regulated PS designs. Nobody paid me for this!

The moderators can remove this post if they see fit.

After having purchased the RAKK DAC PS, and being very pleased, I would be interested for similar money the the RAKK DAC / RAKK DAC 2 PS's

If you really want to improve the SB3, you need to open it up and disconnect the analog circuits from the internal switching supply that powers them. The external supply has no measurable effect on the output noise and distortion levels of the SB3.
