Marantz CD12/DA12 and CD12/DA12 KI

Since a few weeks I own a Marantz CD12 and DA 12 combo.
There was also a Ken Ishiwata modification for it(costed double the price of the standard combo)
Does anybody know what the mods were?

If Marantz stick with tradition, it will mean, copper-plated chassis, better transformer and better quality caps in the key areas, ie. dac, power supply etc

The standard combo had already a copper case and costed 4500 euro. The KI costed 9000 euro so I think the mod is more than better caps and transformer.

Hi.

I read somewhere that KI fitted 2 TDA1541A S1 Double Crown DAC's in these (note S1 not the later S2) but that's all I know I'm afraid

Probably better caps and transformer.

Let us know if you find out more.

Ik know already that Ken Ishiwata replaced the TDA1541A S1 for a S2(Gold crown), but that is all I know.
