I just found out I have been invited to beta test the next generation remote control for the Squeezebox/Transporter! It is a very nice looking wi-fi enabled remote with color LCD screen, scroll wheel and buttons that controls the SB/Transporter via the web interface.
Cool! See it here: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=37856 I_F |

I have one too! It's pretty cool, but be prepared for bugs (and a very difficult to open battery case). BTW, I'm not sure we're supposed to be talking about it. Shhhhh...

Looks like slim devices is going to come through and then some on the next gen squeezebox. Very excited to see what the screen on the actual unit (SB/transporter) looks like!

Here's a public quote from Slimdevices: -David I just want to encourage everyone who has received a beta kit to please speak up! Please feel free to speak openly about the Jive hardware platform. Very sexy!
![]() By the way, are there there any plans for a new SB version? SB4 coming out soon or anything? Santa has promised to bring me a Squeezebox for Christmas and I was just wondering...

Hmm, yeah, that's my impression as well.. No solid information on the subject - which is of course normal because potential buyers would put off buying a SB waiting for the new version.
