Philips top of the line SACD Transport Servo/Decoder fiasco

Looks like Philips turned there back on a big one here, their top line SACD mech with attached servo/decoder board was a real lemon, I believe it was used in all these fine sounding players
Philips SADC-1000 (>$3000aus) player
Musical Fidelity Trivista SACD ($12,500AUS) player
? Musical Fideity KW Sacd player (>$10,000aus)
? Krell Sacd player (>$10,000aus)

Do not attempt to purchase a used one of these, unless you get it real cheap

These units had a time bomb built in where after a number of hours would self corrupt the Mace2 and Furore chips on the decoder board, these chips were some 200 pin smd's and Philips stoped making a replacement board and or the chips not soon after the warranty period had expired, and basically said that's it, you can use these units as very expensive paper weights now.

To there credit Musical Fidelity looked after their customer so long as it was within the warranty period. But Philips was the ******* here, and stopped all support of these boards and chips.

I did check them and they did work, and then as you said they stopped, I reset them again, maybe Philips had something to do with it?
