Sony CDP-101 Tray Problem

Hi,

I have an old, mint condition Sony CDP-101, (CD Player) which has developed a problem with the loading tray. It won't open unless the unit has been on for an hour or so, if at all. Some days it works if you press the button a few times.

I get the idea this is a common problem with this model.

Anyone have the solution?

Most older Sony tray mechanisms are belt driven. Likely a perished belt causing the problem.

Hi.

The loading drawer sticking is a very common problem with the CDP-101.

DO NOT FORCE IT OPEN !

I have had it several times!!

I have spoken to the guy several times - he is very into the CDP-101

I had a look at the web page mentioned, (very interesting), and it seems it's only a cleaning job that's needed...
