... by chipsets ?
I have tested various CD players and transports connected to my non os DAC via coax and found:
Philips based machines sound nervous.
Philips CD960, Madrigal PDT 2, Micromega stage 2.
Philips CD880 even sounds hyper nervous on analog out.
Sony are on the cold side and relaxed. CDP-X3000ES, 229ESD.
Kenwood 8020 on the warm side and also relaxed.
Yamaha CDX-5000 also on the warm side, have to check for nervosity.
Denon DCD3300 neutral (?) or more in the middle ? , have to listen again.
All with standard clocks.
Any way to use a CDM1 as a transport without the SAA7220 ???

Bernhard, of all the ones I've listened to before and after mounting the Tentlabs XO3 's into they rate in the same order just better after the XO3 (improved spidf)surgery.
