I am unable to locate a listing of transport and remote matches. Does anyone know which remote will function with the CD604 and, as importantly, where I may acquire such a remote?

Hi,
All Philips CD players use the same remote codes. The only problem might be if your transport has any special functions. Many many companies use the Philips protocol (called RC5) such as Marantz, Cyrus, some Cambridge audio ........... These remotes would also work. I recommend looking on Ebay for your favourite Philips C.D. remote. You'll be spoilt for choice! Just don't forget to check that they have all the functions that you desire such as program, draw eject, display. You may even find new functions that you never knew you had! Regards, Martin

Thanks, Martin. I have two original Philips remotes, one specifically for the CD960 and the other seemingly more generic (fewer functions). Neither of these work with the CD604. This is why I am looking for a specific remote model for this transport. Are there any matching lists?

According the the service manual for the CD604/CD614, only the CD614 has an IR sensor fitted. The CD604 does have an external RC5 remote control interface fitted though.

Thank you, MC. This seems to have "resolved" my issue. You are, I believe, indicating that there is not remote sensor built into the CD604 but, rather, the requirement for an outboard sensor. The search is on...
