I want to transfer all my old MD audio to PC via digital in, but my PC's motherboard only have a optical out.
Therefore I use PCM2902 to build a USB interface with optical in.
Finally, I have done it and it working perfectly will Windows XP.
The only one disadvantage of the USB card is that you can't hear the sound directly from the optical in, you need to use some audio software like "CoolEditPro" , "WaveLab" to record the sound first and after that you can check what you have recorded.

Very cool ... I would pay money for a FireWire to 24 bit / 96K optical design. Got any ideas? ( http://firewirestuff.com )
