I'm awaiting delivery of an inexpensive Chinese USB DAC that I'll be using primarily with my iBook laptop. I'd also like to break out my 1990-ish Luxman CD player and try that with the new DAC. The Luxman has only an optical output.
First, I've heard nothing positive about toslink. Is it worth spending money on a cable? Second, would it be major surgery to add an RCA coax digital output to the Luxman? That may be a stupid question, but I really have no idea. The Luxman is a very well made player with good isolation and damping but a very old internal DAC. |
