I've got an old Yamaha CDP, a CDX-410U. It pre-dates special purpose CDP IC's, I think.
It's got a B-B PCM56P DAC chip, preamp stage is made out of transistors and not an op-amp chip, 2200 uF caps on PS. So what mod is biggest bang/buck here? No op amp chip to swap. Is there a DAC swap for the PCM56P? Clean up the PS? Clock upgrade? Thanks in advance. |
