Hello to all!
Does anyone have comments about using copper shielding on top of digital chips in DACs? Is there a worthwhile sound improvement? Should the copper be grounded to the circuit ground, or to the 3rd wire earth ground coming into a DAC? Many thanks in Advance! fastcat |

I have never tried this trick with a dac, but have had success covering the tripath chip in my Amp6 with a copper shield (grounded to chassis ground).
Subtle improvements in smoothness and detail. Worth a try... |

If it works, it does something for very high frequencies, hence the copper should be grounded very close to the chip (ground). best |
