Hi!
one question; I'm using a dvd player to feed an x-dac v3. the dvd has two options for the digital output, PCM or bitstream: what's the diference? the dac locks on either one... another dvd has PCM or raw outputs... I' very confused Any help? thanks in advance

Use PCM, RAW and Bitstream enable AC3 and DTS and your DAC can not process those. Some players convert non PCM formats to PCM if set up for PCM only. (A nice way to make MP3 sound a lot better then with the typical DVD player output stage....

Many thanks!
so probably I can still use those mp3 cd's....mmm I must try it... sure, there must be a degree of process inside the player, because the remote volume control always works, either with PCM or bitstream... Very interesting, and thanks again

It is much much better to use an analog volume control. |
