I'm trying to restore a Philps cd100 and need some advice.
The player plays OK in recognizing the TOC and number of tracks on a CD. CD plays OK and eye signal looks good at 1.2v p-p. Only problem is that there's no audio out! I have the specs for the SAA7000, 7010,7020,7030 and TDA 1540 and have been trying to scope out where the problem is but am not familiar enough with what to expect. Clocks and digital signals seem to be present but there's no output at the TDA1540. I'm going to replace all the Philips radial electrolytics next but was wondering if anyone has experienced the same problem before and has suggestions for what I should be trying next. Thanks! |

Don't go mad replacing the caps. Start with the power supply and then the decoupling caps. Replace in stages or you may introduce more faults. Andy
