Default Re: Turn Cd player to MP3

One of these methods would be simplest:

Find out f it has an auxillary input and use an MP3 player.
Use an FM transmitter to send the MP3 output to the radio.
Use an FM modulator and plug the MP3 into the aerial lead/socket.

Any other way would be very complicated.

If you DON'T have aux inputs in your radio...
I used an fm modulator to access my 1994 suburban radio. Purchased from Crutchfield (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-BOM4GOz...d&i=142FMMOD01). It works pretty well, as it isolates the fm antenna when you turn it on (much better signal as compared to an fm transmitter). You'll need to wire it between the antenna and your existing radio, wire to 12V and ground, and run the audio cables to your player. I eventually purchased an mp3 player. You cannot modify your radio. The player prices are coming way down.

Try searching Hackaday.com or Make.com. I am fairly positive that I saw someone who had modified a car stereo to accept an ipod doc. The stereo had no aux input so the owner broke in to the radio sections output to make the connection. Think they installed a mechanical switch to select between the two inputs.
