Pioneer PD-S705 and PD-S904 laser type
 

Hello,

I’ve got problem with mine CDP Pioneer PD-S705, it stops to read CD’s correctly. Its quite old CDP and I think its problem with laser. I tried to clean the lens but it helps only for a wile, like the few first tracks was played fine and the next wasn’t read exact.
My friend got the same problem with his Pioneer PD-S904 (the old one olso).
I thing the laser just burn down, and it’s got to be changed for a new one.
Anyone here has any expefience with this CDP and knows what kind/model/type of a laser are in PD-S705 and PD-S904.

There is PEA1291 in the PD-S705

Maybe You know if this laser PEA1291 in PD-S705 is the same in PD-S904?

Is there someone who could provide a service manual for this CDP's PD-S705 and PD-S904, Anyone?

try:
1. cleaning lens ...o.k.
2. adjusting servo: focus + tracking
3. increasing laser power (really the last way...)

I have a schematic only for pd-s705 - zip archive 200k - inside 4 tiff files Sent me a "test" message to balakin_e(at) yahoo.com and I'll replay with schematic

Unfortunelly - I don't. The laser heads of x03 and x05 lines of Pioneer CD players are different. So - the line "between" - x04- may has another tipe of laser head assembly. I have not any schematic from this line.

I've finally found those laser heads, if someone want's to know:
PD-S705 - PEA1291
PD-S904 - PEA1179
