I have the opportunity to buy this DAC for 150€
Does anyone can say if this DAC a real good one ? Seems to have a lot of "good things" but it's build in poor quality (china ?). I can't find information on the DAC used (multibit ?) nor the analog stage (diff. output are present). Can I tweak it ? Thanks a lot |

...since nobody replied, I'll try shily.
It's kinda strange with this DAC3 thing: only Cambridge DAC3 pictures found on the internet were on eBay, and make me think it looks very similar (not that Cambridge ever made them very different...) to the DAC Magic 3, which is a TDA1305 machine (on the DacMagic see http://www.lampizator.eu/LAMPIZATOR/...20TDA1305.html) But I own a Cambridge thing labelled DAC3 which seems to be older but a BIG sweetie, made of the conversion part of the Cambridge CD3, successor of CD2, sporting 4 x TDA1541S and 16x oversampling. But it's not the one you talk about, 'coz it has no diff outs. And my DAC3 doesn't have those LEDs on the right side, and instead of a selector, there's a volume pot. So it only converts from 44,1KHz SPDIF in. Based on the little I've seen on eBay, it shouldn't go much below 120 Eur or above 160 Eur. (I got mine for less than that, but then, it's not the same machine...) Bye, pilli _ |

Thanks for the link. I saw that there is room for DIY tube output
Mine I project to buy seems to be a DACMAGIC. You got a very rare version with TDA1541, seems to be a very good dac ! |
