Ethernet with cat5E to USB-Dac ?

Hi all digitaller's

I am a proud owner of an DDDAC lowjitter 12x tda1543 usb / s/pdif / coax. input dac, which i have been playing around with for a while (actually a year), well until now, it had been hooked up with a mediacenter running linux/freevo, and digital in, from my CD. Well that just fine But finding my family allways using the CD-player i decided to drop the mediacenter for good.

I have been looking at the squeezebox, but find it a little to expencive through, so i was hoping that i could invent some sort of a

ethernet to usb adapter

, that my dac, could be connected to. So i could control it through my laptop through wireless... wouldent it be cool ?

Is this even possible ???, or is it possible with a minimum of hardware near my dac ?

Any comments are welcome.
