Default Laser assembly for the Philips CD960

I own a unit of Philips CD960 with a non functioning laser in the pickup unit. Can someone let me know what is the model of the laser unit and when can I get a unit because the local Philips Service centre told me that its not available anymore.
If the original unit cannot be found could I get replacement parts or use another laser unit model?

ckt

Default CDM-9.44

Hi Jaap,

Thanks a lot. I found a dealer selling the CDM9.44 in Europe. Is it the original part or is it a direct replacement? Would you by chance also know where I can get the service manual for the CD960

Regards,

ckt

You got it all wrong!

Philips CD 960 is equipped with CDM 1 drive.

You can source the drive from working Philips CD 104/204/304 and it is the cheapest way.

It looks exactly like Marantz CD-94 inside.
