DEQ 2496 Remote Controll (under construction by myself)

Hi I've got an update.

Hans the memory load seems to be working now.
Your problem should be fixed.
Any preset slot is loaded.
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Stereo link on the bypass page is working.
But only when you click on the left side of the screen.
That will do for now. I think

There is also a menu selction with page selector.
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

There are some strange things happening in the program.
Some action can freeze the program for a short period.
1-2 secconds. :bawling:

Comments please!
;)

by the way should i use the standard windows ...<snip> Or the darkgray with amber look (like image in previous post 2nd image)

Wooow - You are fast Simon....

Although I think it look rather stylish with dark grey as contrast to the organge text I believe easy does it! Better stay with MS Windows look and feel. User often find new software (and hardware) less confusing if they are familiar with the user interface. Just my 2c...

I've not been able to test this new release yet. But it looks as you have cleared part of 'my' wish list already - Thanks :D

Fast ? maybe, but it's not finished.
And the looks vari to much.
The look on the GEQ is perfect!
But how the h*ll am i supost to transform that to the I/O page?
If only those selectors were transparent!

Your other request is very hard to program!
Due to the nice looks.
That will take a lot of time. Maybe rewriting the hole GEQ.
The thing i had in mind won't work :(
But it's a good request!
Time will tell.

Regards, Simon

Saving to HD should be possible.
But i can't see the advantage.
So it has a low priority to me.
Saving to the UC has a higher priority.

Still the PEQ is the next thing to do.
Also reported bugs.

Regards, Simon

btw I don't have time for this project, i'm moving to a new house and have to do some serious painting and stuff.
Serious programming will not start before februari.

Does anyone have any tips for early days with the DEQ?

Read the manual twise before you open your Christmas packed lucky you ;)

Actually, the DEQ firmware is quite intuitive. But if you have read trough the manual a couple of times you have an idea as to what and where different function are available.

If your application for the DEQ is hi-fi in the analog domain you might need XLR to phono adapters...

You really need to read the manual!!!!!
There are a lot of functions you would never discover without the manual!

The accuracy of some parameters can be extremly accurate.
frequency steps in the PEQ or delay steps.
By default they are inaccurate to ensure easy handling.
But there is more
SO
RTFM :clown:

Regards, Simon

feel free to ask! This goes for everybody!!
but please be informative about the situation/problem!
I will not reply to
"what cable should i use"
But things like "can i misuse the aesebu input for my cd player ouput, wich has no optical output.
The answer would be yes, you can but................

The most recent version is : 1.4
It is a version were the PEQ is half finished.
Take a look.
It has been a while since i worked on it so i can't recall what's working and what's not.
Last modification 18 april :(
Been very bussy with not so quite funny stuff.

There's also a 1.3 release.
Whitout the PEQ module.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

version 1.3
version 1.4

Allthough i don't have much time.
Hint tips bugs and questions are still welcome.

Regards Simon

Ok, Ok I'm stoopid I know.

Can someone tell me very clearly which sockets the midi plugs go into please ?

I did the obvious thing and put the plug marked Input into the Behringer Midi In and the one marked Output into the Midi Out and no joy.

The Midisettings page says No Device found although it does find my midi to USB cable, a Midimate (which has all the XP drivers loaded and which device mangler says is there)

Help!!

And still not sure I've got the plugs in the right sockets.

Any help appreciated etc.

Jim

It's MIDI Out from MIDI interface to MIDI In on DEQ.
And MIDI Out from DEQ to MIDI In on the MIDI interface.

The remote proggy need's to synck with the DEQ every time it's startet.
Most controls in the application will work in realtime when interconnection and communication is correct.

Common mistake when first getting started widt MIDI is selection of MIDI channel.
Selecting MIDI channel 1 on computer's MIDI interface and the DEQ should get you started.

Many thanks DEQ, but still a few problems.

The plugs are in the right sockets but the prog still says no device found. BUT if I do Dump from the Midi page on the UC the prog picks up the current values for the GEQ, whereas the I/O page is totally wrong.

As far as control goes I can adjust the gain offest on the I/O page but very little else. Any changes I make in the prog are not reflectd on the UC - not sure if it's supposed to though ?

any ideas ?

TIA

Jim
