How much trouble it is to get the NDA?

Edit: BTW, there is a schematic of the evaluation board here: ESS Technology :: Downloads

You need to contact one of their distributors, so not hard, and I don't think they're super scrutinizing. A number of members here have done it over the years (I haven't been motivated enough myself to do that, yet)

Edit -- good find on the download link.

Not too much, you can contact your local ESS distributer and buy one DAC IC, they will send you the NDA.

The value of C2 is a bit high.
Set R3 ro 220 Ohm and C2 to 2.2nF.

Can you measure the output of the I/V stage and see the HF noise?

Increase R3 to 220 and decrease C2t o 2.2n reduces the phase margin by ~30 degrees. The reason is large R3 reduces the feedback strength, increases the unity gain bandwidth by 10x to ~30MHz, while the zero frequency is kept the same.

The noise simulation is following. It looks good to me:

My apologies! I gave you a different link than the one I was referring to, albeit still useful

From there, through the next maybe 20 posts there's actual content versus people giving their impressions.
ES9038Q2M Board

Yes, the ADA4896 looks like a nice chip--do mind your pcb layout and local decoupling implementation otherwise it looks easy to waste its performance. Using something like the lme49720 or opa1642 would reduce costs appreciably. While I'm not so worried about any sort of RF glitch energy, the latter is a JFET input opamp that is much more resistant to RFI. Slower, but still plenty quick for this application. The 49720 is just a great chip all around and one recommended in some of ESS's datasheets as well and seen in Victor's circuit I previously linked.
