Im planning to implement highpass filter in DSP like Minidsp or any other generic DSP. But when I add a active filter using IC i see some group delay is being added by the filter circuit.
So is it the same case with the digital filter also? will it introduce any group delay in the subwoofer?
Yes, a digital filter will have no shorter delay than the analog one. You can compensate for that digitally through delaying the rest of the channels, something impractical with analog.
