Interesting article about the history/development of Ladder DAC's:
HD Tracks Banner Ad - MSB Technology

The actual MSB products are out of reach for most folks, and the Theater Master set-up is over $124K ! They have a "clock jitter reduction" unit that is supposed to correct down to 33 Femtoseconds ($10 extra for this add-on). That sort of accuracy is not measurable with even lab quality measuring equipment, let alone the human ear!

Plenty of errors in that text - not least that TDA1541 isn't a 'ladder DAC' at all, doesn't use resistors, nor is it inaccurate, being the best measuring 16bit part available to date. As for alleging it was 'very expensive to make' when the comparison is MSB's discrete resistor arrays....
