Hi
I am looking for DAC to use with my TV optical out and and a macbook. It will eventually run through apple TV so at must have an optical in and ideally a USB.
My macbook has a quite good inbuilt DAC so I would like something thats a good upgrade.
Then will run DAC through passive preamp into a Quad 405 (Input sensitivity: 0.5V).
Funds are limited, could stretch to a Modi 2 uber if I saved a while but also looking at DAC boards off eBay and other places. Will I be able to easily build a DAC for half the price of the Modi that will be equally as good or better?
