Hello

I have a Yamaha yp-40 Clavinova piano, I include the schematic, it's the first one of that type, so I would keep it.

There is a UPC610D 10 bit d/a converter, is there a better d/a converter replacement to replace the UPC610D ?

I include the UPC610D spec sheet.

To improve the sound I will also replace all the NJM4558 opamp by better ones.

Thank

Bye

Gaetan

Wow! This is old-school!

Anyhow, it seems to me it is not just the UPC610 which is the DAC. The mulitiplexer after it is also set up as a R-2R DAC in a clever arrangement.

So you can not replace just the UPC610 chip, you would have to replace the whole DAC section. And I do not think there is an off the shelf chip that would drop right in.

I'd say keep it as it is. It's vintage!
