Default Schematic for Celestion 6000 Controller...

Hi Dirk
There is a generic diagram here for an article published in April 1996 in HiFi World but not clear if this relates to the 600/6000 controller
http://www.audiodesignguide.com/doc/...bwoofer_p4.jpg

Have my own 600/6000 set up so can send hi res pictures of inside if that helps.
Noel Keywood still at Hi Fi World had a Quad ESL83/6000 set up with his own controller and may help.
I can concur with Noel and others that this set up needs very good amplifiers with plenty of power and my experience with both ss and tube over the last 25 years is that high powered tube amps are best for the SL600 imaging qualities with high current ss amps good for the 6000s.
regards
Malcolm

Default Swapping OPs...

So the crossover uses TL072CP and NE5532AN

I plan to exchange the TL072 with OPA2134.

I'm not sure, if I should exchange the NE5532.

Any recommendations from the OPamp experts?

Thanks, Dirk

Hi,

The article in post #2 relates to a single OB sub for Quad ESL63's :

FWIW you will gain next to nothing replacing TL07X's in a sub channel.

rgds, sreten.
