Default JT-DAC No. 3 -- worth resurrecting?

I was going through some old boxes and found a JT-DAC No. 3 that's mostly done. The main board is completely stuffed and it just needs to be mounted in a case, wired up, and power supply (transformer/rectifiers/filters) built. I found the original case I bought for it but need to find the power supply which I recall starting.

Is it worth my time to complete this? I've already got a modded Arcam iRDAC and a modded Musical Fidelity M1 DAC. The digital chips in the JT-DAC are 20 year old technology although I understand folks still like the PCM1702.

On a related topic, the LPF on the output of the DAC is implemented as a "3rd order passive" network (two inductors and a cap) with an opamp buffer. Would it be better to redesign as an active 3rd order Sallen-Key filter since there's an opamp sitting there already? It seems from an audiophile perspective, it would be better to pass the signal through resistors rather than 2 inductors?
