I am looking for a USB to spdif converter. Anybody has anything to recommend?

There have been quite a few threads about this. I've had some of the super-duper-expensive ones in house and some EBay cheapies. No difference. Get the EBay cheapie and use the rest of the money to buy music.

The one I currently use is a Phiree HA Info. Works great at anything up to 24/96.

There is a world of difference between a battery powered M2tech EVO and a WaveIO card.
WaveIO with a good psu easily won on all accounts.

May look at the USBStreamer miniDSP boxed 105$ (also unboxed) and works with ASIO & WASAPI and has 8 channels I/O I2S and 2 channels optical SPDIF.. may look also at the forum...

What does that ferrite suppose to do on the Berkeley unit and what is that piece of metal sticking up suppose to achieve...?
