Yes, I have also pledged, also the added Durio Dual Sound. It is not my baby anymore but it is still alive, the kids are growing. :-)
I tried with my sample PCBs Durio Dual Sound - amazing. Not sure, but it can compete with RPi-DAC DualMono, for sure.

Just thinking if I should create a Quad DAC (or even more: Ten DAC, similar to DDDAC): a motherboard with 2x5 (max.) DAC modules, running all in DualMono and Extern Filter mode (people call it NOS DAC), plus FPGA Quite heavy but as Lyrebird True24 DAC, supporting real 144 dB SNR, with XLR out option. Just the time missing to do ...

I don't have a Rasberry pi yet. So I went for the "DualMono ALL THE WAY". Not too sure why...because I have a Touch with DDDAC 1794

Got the duriosound. And it sounds good. No serious listening or comparison with the hifiberry dac+ yet.

This DAC like most RPi DAC'srun as slave to RPi. Not very good thing because of the jitter.

Before we all decide that we have a problem. Why don't you tell us how big the jitter problem is?

In most spdif dacs the situation is similar.

At least with the raspberry dac you have a simple path. raspberry -> i2s -> dac.

I've read of someone who had similar remarks about the raspberry and he was very happy with the waveio and a usb dac. But I've also read of someone who preferred raspberry pi -> i2s -> dddac1794 to a USB -> waveio -> i2s -> dddac1794. Who is right?

In the end I trust my ears and I think the duriosound and hifiberry sound very good. Especially for the money! It's not even worth a discussion.

Well said, it seems that jitter is the new evil and some never stop going on about it, yet the figures some quote make me wonder how bad a problem it is... It seems that some in audio have to have demons to chase....
