Default dac kit selection help

Hello everyone! I'm saving money to get a DIY DAC kit and I was wondering what kits you guys prefer? I will have about 200-300 (even more if I can piece out the components). this doesn't include power supply, case, and digital coax input board (if needed). I'm completely lost in figuring out kits by sound specs that I don't understand yet. lol,

I want to start rolling out a new system and this will be my starting point.

Thank you all!

At those price you have the nice Distinctive-1541 coreboard (i2s input needed as the output-stage) : People share a lot of their time & knowledge with also knowledge nicely given for free elswhere by great people like John from ECdesign, Thorsten loesch from AMR and many goodwilled collaborative work of some diyaudio fellows. The goal was to fight the bad layout TDA1541 pcbs of Ebay! You need a TDA1541 dac chip of course !
nice & versatile pcb

A lot of ready made I2S to USB avaliable like iun your country at DIYinkh (with PS also)
A nice outputstage should be a CEN/SEN (dig here on DIYA). Some are kindly designing tubes stages or clock coreboard to go further ! Distinctive-1541 coreboard allow this versatility in a nice postive positivist way with SOTA matching impedance uf.l connector for the I2S & clock datas. No profit, it was not the goal ! 7 pcbs left only, cause just a batch of 100 for diyaudio fellows !

Not a lot of money for a very good enough result.

An another nice DAC at a kind SQ/P with its own PS here is the SUBBU DAC revision 3. Out of stock. An another non official waiting list is born and maybe a second production will come ! A thread was maid to allow to construct it and avoid errors.

A german DAC : NOS 1794PCM board kit seems to have sucess also and a nice sound (doesn't tried myself but good testimonies): in the digitalline section also.

In the readymade bare DAC (no box but populated) : some nice AK4396 dac chip board on the market like some good multibitDAC with the Philips TDA1543 : you will see a lot of inputs with your same asking here : just dig in the three first page of the both digitals thread !

I thin all those dacs can not disapointed you in relation to your budget and most has lower price. It seems not especially necessary to go to ES9018 dac chip has most of the time the dac chip alone can't guaranty you the sucess : PS and Layout have equal importance.

Voilą what I recently learned from the nice guys of DIYAUDIO !

regards
Eldam
