FYI, it is now possible to use I2S DAC's with Raspberry Pi using the ASoC ALSA drivers:

ASoC: Add support for BCM2708 [LWN.net]

So any TDA1541A and like kits (without need for MCLK signal) are easy to use (you just have to got the newest Raspberry Pi board version with P5 connector for I2S signals).
