Finished my DDDAC1794 with the new frontpanel.... those guys at Schaeffer do such a great job.
I am so happy :D
Now I have to finish it with the 3 extra DAC boards....

Help

I received this dac kit a couple of days ago from Doede.

I have populated the boards.

The main board is one of his prototypes. The reason I bought this board is to have 75 Ohm connection(not interested USB)

The problem is only the power LED activates.

I have run my DMM over the boards and have voltage every where.

Both channels give the same readings.

I am a non technical retired person who loves kit building to pass some time.

I have successfully built,Class D & LM 3886 amplifiers.As long as the boards
are clearly marked (for dummies like me)

Is there any Australian members who I could send the boards to check out for me.

Sent with thanks,

Hi Elb,

lets check a few things first . First of all, the LEDs are for USB only, not for SPDIF.

also, did you connect the spdif select pin to ground?
or send me some detailed Pictures (PM) of everything, so I can check for you.
what DC voltage do you read at the Output Pins (pos and neg) versus Common?

Hi Doede,
I cannot contact you via Email.

Our computer has issues, that is why I posted today on this forum. It is the only
way to communicate.

Connected the spdif to ground,no sound.

Out put measurements for L & R.

neg to pos = 0

common to pos= 2.74v

And just for the sake of it,common to neg=2.74v

The 4 deck DDDAC fits in this case? Finding a tall enough case can be an issue. A case that is 3U seems to be the minimum for the 4 deck.

Hmm...I figured out that it should be possible with 3 and 5mm stands instead of the standard 10mm and 15 mm stands.
So between the boards and the motherboard, and between the housing and motherboard.
I have an inner height of exactly 80mm.

You are correct. This is the way I did it also. The total height will be about 76mm. I also ordered the same enclosure for my DDDAC :D

These values are correct! ok, can you send some Pictures where I can recognize what you did?
