I just started reading up on DSD audio files and trying to determine the best route to take to start using them. Not sure about the BDP that are DSD playback capable. Not sure which can and cannot play DSD or if it's worth it.
A possible route to take is via PC to a USB DSD capable DAC.
The Mytek DAC does the job and well I am told. I know someone with an EMM Labs DAC and they like DSD over SACD. Both price rather high for DIYer.
I've not seen a completed DSD DAC DIY project here, but I could be missing something because I don't have the terminology down.
So far I have been able to download DSD files, place them on DVD and play them Sony PS3 over HDMI to a Sony tv. At least the file structure is correct.
If anyone knows of a project or kit that's available for a USB or firewire DSD DAC, please let me know.
