it's my short knowledge that ak4396 has an internal digital volume control and a slow roll off filter. i'd like to know how to utilize them so that i can connect the dac directly to my amp without the need for a pot, and also it's been my experience that slow roll off usually sounds better.
thanks in advance. |

To adjust the internal digital volume, you look to need an external micro that either has an SPI-style serial interface or can 'big-bang' the clock and data pins in software. The same serial interface selects the type of digital filter - after reset the chip uses the sharp roll-off.
