Default I Need a digital x-over with digital i/o

I like the idea of the dcx2496 style crossover but I wouldn't be able to stand it's analog i/o. My own DAC beats anything I've compared it to by far and I can not substitute it but I can build another one. With my own DACs at the output of an X-over and my own choice of an A to D converter at it's input For analog sources I'd be content.
Is there such a device around that is also affordable? Having three bands out would be best since I'd like to try subs sometime.

Nice suggestions! I like the DSP X over project idea so far . I added my wishes to that thread. I favor an external clock input option and the ability to supply power to important parts from off the board if desired. I like things to be tweakable (upgradable).
