Improving the ES9023 SPDIF DAC
Just a new thread to check if any of the builders has great ideas to improve the Subbu/Jean-Paul ES9023 SPDIF DAC to a even higher level (if that is possible ;) ).

Feel free to try out fancy caps that came straight from nirvana, silver wiring that was made by an austrian blacksmith in the 17th century etc. (and don't be surprised if we try your idea too) but stay on the line of correct electrical/electronic housekeeping as usual in correctly designed DACs and: safety first !

That would be a total redesign and not a simple change of parts. Also onboard shunt regs would mean that the PCB would have to be much larger.

We keep the DAC PCB and the power supply PCB as they are (for now). Maybe when we do a redesign or a completely new version such options (including USB input) might appear. Maybe....

I am not sure if that can be called synchronous clocking but it works. EUVL does it like that. I haven't tried it as it would be simply copying and that can't be the goal.
