The USB connection? Is that a PCM cip too? Because it won't go past 16/48.
Optical SPDIF won't pass more than 96kHz either, you would need coax SPDIF for 192kHz sample rate.

Also... Denon 3910 has Alpha AL24 Processing as upsampling (done with a 40 bit processor - ADSP21266) - IMO it is done way better than the crude ASRC chip. The stereo mix output has two DAC cips PCM1798, one per channel, in mono mode. Sure, it can benefit from better OpAmps for I/V than the NJM2068, but I doubt that is that is an issue now.
I think you are hearing what you want to hear, not what it really sounds like...

Here are test results:
1. test files: Stereo FLAC 24BIT/192kHz from the site you mentioned.
2. MacBook Pro with optical output and XBMC player: DAC works fine
3. PC with foobar2000 connected via USB: DAC works fine (USB receiver PCM2902)

Believe me or not.

As for Denon 3910, it does a perfect job playing SACD, but less than perfect with regular CD connected via dedicated 2 Ch analog output, and even digital signal to Classe's DAC is not perfect. I tried a few options, and the best I have is with Rotel RCD-950 analog RCA -> Classe. Perfect sound, you cannot wish for better. But I wanted to use one source only, Denon, and that's why I came to that DAC.

Obviously, you have a better theoretical knowledge than me, and I trust you may hear it better, but in my assessment, Rotel RCD-950 DAC produced the best signal (in my home, I've heard Boulder and Ayre in other places). In comparison Gigawork DAC sounds a little more harsh, grainy (distorted?) in frequencies above 5 kHz, bass is bigger (louder?) with the same perfect resolution, space and sound stage.

As you can see for yourself, because it is just "Fully Compliant With USB 1.1 Specification", the PCM2902 is not capable of more than 16bit/48kHz:
USB Audio - USB CODEC - PCM2902 - TI.com. Only USB2.0 devices with proper drivers can go past that limit.
Probably in the MAC and Windows settings you have selected to downsample on USB devices to maximum that is capable that device (it is an option).

As for Rotel RDC-950: I wasn't comparing the Denon DVD-3910 with it, I was saying that the Denon should sound better than that Gigawork DAC.

I don't know. That is why I posted my question: is there a way to monitor the bit rate of the input signal in this DAC. Like some module connected before the dac chip instead of up-sampling module.

Define better. Denon own dac sounds cleaner, but less spatial resolution than Gigaworks (to me).
