Default Serial Communication with TOSLINK

Hi All.

I am trying to send Serial Data from Microcontroller to my PC over Optical.
I have connected:

TOTX147 VIN ----> MCU TXD
TORX147 VOUT ---> MCU RXD

The MCU sending "Hello" every 1 sec interval (with 115200 Baud)... but at receiving End (at PC), I am not getting actual data. I am getting some ERROR (Garbage) Data every 1 sec Interval. I have directly connected the TOTX and TORX with MCU UART PIN's. Do I need to use additional any circuit (Like Pull-Up or Logic Level Converter) to receive Actual data?

Thanks for reading. Awaiting for your suggestion.

Regards.
Sakibnaz.

Don't you have a SPDIF decoder in the PC end?

Hi thanks for reply.

No, I don't have any decoder. I have connected TORX with my PC COM port through MAX232 circuit.

Should it work?

Regards.
