Hi, I'm hoping to use my old I mac and iTunes as a file server for my Hifi. I'm intending connecting it to my Quad 405 and Esl 57s. I've been looking at the HRT streamer 11+ to link the mac and Quad.
To control itunes on the mac I'm using the remote app on the iPad (as the bluetooth seems to be a complete no go). I'm hoping to make it as easy as possible to use or the wife will consider the change to be a backward move. So.... A few questions arise... Is the DAC 'overkill' (would the streamer 11 be good enough for my system) As a new person to the mac, I've got it to load up iTunes at turn on but it then needs a confirmation that I don't mind it sharing with other computers. I have to answer this or it won't talk to the iPad. Is there a way that I can simply turn on the mac, force the confirmation, the wife won't be too keen to mess about with keyboards etc, she just wants to play music, and to be fair, I'd agree! |
