I have an SRC2496, DEQ2496 & DCX2496 all linked with AES/EBU.
The SRC2496 & DEQ2496 have word clock BNC inputs to allow synchronisation using an external clock. Would you expect that adding an ART SyncGen (Applied Research & Technology: Digital Interfaces) as external clock for both would make a significant improvement? |

Sound on Sound Magazine concluded that the DEQ2496 performed significantly worse with a very high quality external clock than with the standard internal clock: Does Your Studio Need A Digital Master Clock?
On this basis I won't waste money on buying the SyncGen, unless there might be a cummulative benefit of having both units sync'd that would outweigh the disadvantages. |
