Any affordable DSP solutions for FIR/equalisation?

By affordable I'm thinking of not more than about $200.
Kit form is fine.
I would really like to make an equalizer to go in the car, so I'm not too keen on using PCs although there is some very interesting stuff there.
If i could find an analog IC that can do many parametric equalizers that could be good too.
