I am building a 7.1 ch Surround Sound System based on the MiniDSP crossovers. Right now I am using 2x8 in a four way configuration. 2ch stereo sounds amazing, but I am trying to integrate an HTPC based surround system as well. Ideally, I would like to keep everything in digital domain prior to the MiniDSP. I was thinking of just getting this:
Cypress CLUX-11SA Unfortunatelly, the I2S to SPDIF board is no longer available, but the the HDMI to 7.1 converter is. From the description of the page, I should be able to tap the I2S lines. Is it possible to just connect them to the I2S header of the MiniDSP 2x8 crosover? http://www.minidsp.com/images/docume...0note%20v2.pdf Thanks, Chris |

Chris,
maybe twistedpear has something you can use (if connecting directly to the minidsp is not possible). See The S/PDIF Transceiver Module I am very interested in your results. I have a similar problem. Regards Joost |
